Description: 

Supervises, guides, and/or instructs the work assignments of subordinate staff. Plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care for a unit or shift. Ensures that staff assess client health problems and needs. Develops and implements nursing care plans and maintains medical records. Supervises the provision and quality of nursing care to ill, injured, convalescent or disabled clients. Advises clients on health maintenance and disease prevention or provide case management. Supervises and plans work of assigned staff. Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts. Consults and coordinates with health care team members to assess, plan, implement and evaluate client care plans. Maintains accurate, detailed reports and client records. Modifies client treatment plans as indicated by clients' responses and conditions. Monitors all aspects of client care, including diet and physical activity. Monitors, records and reports symptoms and changes in clients' conditions. Observes nurses and visits clients to ensure that proper nursing care is provided. Prepares clients for, and assists with, examinations and treatments. Prepares rooms, sterile instruments, equipment and supplies, and ensures that stock of supplies is maintained. Provides education to client and family. Provides health care, first aid, immunizations and assistance in convalescence and rehabilitation

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university OR Associate's degree in nursing from an accredited college or university AND current Georgia License as a Registered Professional Nurse AND Two or more years in a managerial/supervisory of leadership role.

Preferred Qualifications - External: 

Masters of  science in nursing, license RN, minimum  experience of  five years OR clinical perioperative, two years’ experience in the nurse practitioner role, compassionate; medical aptitude; communication and problem-solving skills, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner,  possess excellent communication skills (demeanor, verbal, written, time management, analytical, etc) as well as maintain a consistent professional image , excellent documentation skills, experience working with the CareLogic system, Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioners (PMHNP)  with experience diagnosing and assessing mental health and management of pharmachotherapeutic and psychotherapeutic interventions a  plus. Agency will assist with certification from the School for Psychiatry with an agreement of a 3 or 5 year commitment.

Under general supervision, provides general direct nursing care to injured, ill, convalescent or disabled individuals. Care includes providing medical treatments, administering medication and giving injections. May supervise and/or direct the work of others. Administers prescribed medications or starts intravenous fluids, and notes times and amounts on clients' charts. Answers clients' calls and determines how to assist them. Helps clients with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene, moving in bed, and standing and walking. Measures and records clients' vital signs, such as height, weight, temperature, blood pressure, pulse and respiration. Observes clients, charting and reporting changes in clients' conditions, such as adverse reactions to medication or treatment, and taking any necessary action. Provides basic client care.

Qualifications:

Vocational/Technical degree from an accredited college AND current Georgia license to practice as a Licensed Practical Nurse AND Six months of nursing experience.

Preferred Qualifications - External: 

A current GA license to practice as a LPN, at least six months of nursing experience, and experience working with DD/MH/SA population, ability to maintain accurate medical records, administering medications, and assist doctor when applicable, good communication skills with Individuals and other staff to address Individual's specific needs, experience with electronic medical records system, medication education, good documentation skills, demonstrate accountability, respectability, responsibility and reliability.
