My Sister’s Keeper Program Description
My Brother’s Keeper and My Sister’s Keeper are short term (5 months), highly structured addictive disease residences, serving adult persons 18 years old or older. Many of the persons are referred from intake at 853 Battle Creek, however some of the persons are referred to the program by the court system, are currently on probation or parole, or have pending legal issues.  The program operates 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Contact for this program may be made through Sonja Townsend or Zachery Matthews at 770-478-1099 during working hours 9am until 5pm. Crisis managers are on staff 24 hours a day. The after hour’s crisis plan would be to contact GA Access & Crisis line at 1-800-715-4225.

 

Target Population

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • PPD (tuberculin skin test) done within the past 90 days
  • Ability to be engaged in gainful employment
  • Probation and Parolees
  • Pregnant

Goals of program

The recovery residences provide a structured setting for individuals diagnosed with a substance related disorder.  The program is designed and staffed to provide a stable environment for consumers to enable them to complete the day service program and begin to develop the supports necessary to become involved in the recovery process. Service activities include but are not limited to: daily 12-step meeting attendance, building problem solving skills, financial planning, career assistance, nutritional awareness & menu planning, and instruction on appropriate social interactions.
