Adult Counseling

 

How do I get started in this program?

  • You have to be referred from Intake or from another program within the agency.
  • You do not have to bring any documents because the program that made the referral will have processed all necessary documents.

 

Who uses this program?

  • Adults age (18) and older who have been diagnosed with a mental illness
  • Adults age 18, who are still in high school will have to utilize the Child and Adolescence program until they graduate from high school.

 

What does this program do?

  • Provide counseling services that enhance the psychological and social functioning of individuals served;
  • Enhance individuals’ self-esteem, and assist in increasing coping strategies; and
  • Enhance the opportunity of each individual served in the areas of work, education, and/or social interaction.

 

What services are available?

  • Behavioral Health Assessment and Referral
  • Individual, Group, and Family Counseling
  • Individual Counseling is currently available on a limited basis.

 

When are services provided?

  • Mondays through Thursdays 8:30am to 5:00pm
  • Later or earlier appointments are at the discretion of the therapist

What is the intended goal of this program?

  • To provide services that minimize the impact of mental illness in the lives of individuals served while supporting their inclusion in the community.

 

How are services structured(group setting, 1:1, in home, etc)?

Currently all services are provided at the Flint River Center
