Early Intervention: Babies Can’t Wait (BCW) Babies Can’t Wait (Early Intervention) is a state program run though the Public Health Department. Clayton Center’s BCW is contracted out from the Clayton County Public Health program. Clayton Center has had an Early Intervention program for almost 30 years. Clayton Early Intervention was the first early intervention program in the state. Early Intervention is funded by state dollars and Federal Part C dollars (Part C of IDEA). Early Intervention provides free evaluations for children 0-3 years old who may have significant developmental disabilities. Children are designated as Category I or Category II. Category I children have a medical diagnosis of a condition that usually leads to a developmental delay. Category II children have a significant developmental delay but no known medical diagnosis. Clayton Center BCW serves infants and toddlers (0-3years) who have been referred for evaluation and are residents of Clayton County. |
